ASTORE, Nov 25 (APP):Former judge of the Gilgit-Baltistan Chief Court, Justice (Retd.) Yar Muhammad Nasir, has been appointed as the Caretaker Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan,an official notification issued on Tuesday.
He possesses several decades of judicial experience and despite his rural background, he achieved an exemplary professional career in the judiciary.
He began his career as a civil judge, later served as a District and Sessions Judge, and subsequently held the position of Registrar of the Chief Court. He was later appointed as a judge of the Gilgit-Baltistan Chief Court, where he heard significant constitutional, civil, and electoral cases.
During his tenure on the bench, he presided over numerous sensitive and high-profile cases. He also served as a member of the Election Tribunal, where he was entrusted with hearing appeals related to nomination papers and electoral irregularities.
Following his retirement, he continued to remain associated with the legal field and was serving as a legal consultant with The Legal Acumen.
