Justice Munib Akhtar, the Senior Puisne Judge of the Supreme Court of Pakistan, took oath as Acting Chief Justice, Supreme Court of Pakistan Thursday.
Justice Munib Akhtar takes oath as CJP
ISLAMABAD, Oct 15 (APP): Justice Munib Akhtar, the Senior Puisne Judge of the Supreme Court of Pakistan, took oath as Acting Chief Justice, Supreme Court of Pakistan Thursday.
The oath was administered by Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhail in a simple and dignified ceremony held at the Supreme Court of Pakistan.
Justice Munib Akhtar shall act as Chief Justice, Supreme Court of Pakistan during the period, Justice Yahya Afridi, Chief Justice of Pakistan, remains abroad on a private visit to the United Kingdom.
The ceremony was attended by Judges of the Supreme Court, Director General Federal Judicial Academy, Secretary Judicial Commission of Pakistan, Secretary Supreme Judicial Council and Law officers.
Registrar, Supreme Court, conducted the proceedings of the oath-taking ceremony. Officers and staff of the Supreme Court of Pakistan, were also present on the occasion.
