June 11 last date for filing nomination papers

Prospect of expats' participation in next general elections becomes brighter

ISLAMABAD, Jun 10 (APP):Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has fixed June 11 (Monday) as last date to file nomination papers for upcoming general election, scheduled to be held on July 25.
Nomination papers for reserved seats of women and non-Muslims can also be filed by the same date.
Meanwhile, Election Commission as well as District Returning Officers and Returning Officers received nomination papers from aspiring candidates on Saturday and Sunday despite weakly-off.
According to the revised election schedule issued by the ECP, the preliminary list of candidates will also be displayed on June 11.
Scrutiny process of nomination papers will continue till June 19 while appeals against rejection or acceptance of the papers can be filed by June 22.
The Appellate Tribunals will decide about the appeals by June 27, after which the revised list of candidates will be published on June 28.
Candidates can withdraw their papers by June 29, following which the final list of candidates will be published the same day.
Election symbols will be allotted to the contesting candidates on June 30 while the polling for both National and Provincial Assembly elections will be held on July 25.
