ISLAMABAD, Oct 24 (APP):Journalists of Rawalpindi and Islamabad held a meeting at National Press Club here Wednesday to protest against sacking of media personnel in different news organizations.
During the meeting, they demanded that Prime Minister and Chief Justice of Pakistan should intervene in the matter and issue an order to restore the positions of the sacked and transferred journalists.
In a statement, prominent journalist leader Farooq Faisal Khan said that within a month, an audit of media organizations from the period of July 2017 to July 2018 should be conducted so that it could be ascertained which media organizations made money and which were facing deficit.
It was decided that another meeting would be held on October 25 at National Press Club and more suggestions would be sought from the journalists affected by the sackings and transfers.
