ISLAMABAD, Nov 21 (APP):Pakistan’s leading digital operator, is supporting UNICEF to meet the winterization needs of vulnerable children across the country, aligning the initiative with the global call to action on World Children’s Day.
Under this collaboration, Jazz is extending a contribution of USD 50,000 to UNICEF’s 2025–2026 winterization programme, enabling the provision of warm clothing, blankets, and critical protection items to children and families living in high-risk, snow-prone, and flood-affected regions of the country.
This contribution strengthens UNICEF’s ongoing efforts to safeguard children living in remote, underserved, and disaster-hit regions where cold temperatures pose serious health risks, particularly for school-going children in Punjab who are still recovering from flood damage. Through this support, thousands of children will receive urgently needed warm clothing, ensuring their protection, well-being, and continued access to schooling during the winter months.
Commenting on the initiative, Syed Zaheer Mehdi, Group Chief Corporate and Regulatory Officer at Jazz, said: “On World Children’s Day, our priority is to ensure every child has the warmth, safety, and care they deserve. This collaboration with UNICEF reflects Jazz’s continued commitment to protecting vulnerable children. As a company focused on expanding opportunities for young people, we remain dedicated to helping underprivileged children stay connected to learning, even through the toughest winter conditions.”
Jazz’s collaboration with UNICEF builds on its extensive humanitarian contributions during the 2025 floods, where the company mobilized essential relief — including food, medical supplies, and other critical support — for affected families across impacted regions. These efforts reflect Jazz’s continued commitment to safeguarding vulnerable communities and strengthening national resilience in times of crisis.
“Jazz’s generous contribution will help thousands of children face the winter with greater warmth and protection from the severe cold. UNICEF is grateful to all who stand with us to ensure no child is left behind, especially during the harshest winter months,” said Pernille Ironside, UNICEF Representative in Pakistan.
Through this latest winterization effort with UNICEF, Jazz reaffirms its long-standing commitment to humanitarian support, educational empowerment, and community resilience—ensuring that children in the country’s harshest climates, including those in flood-hit areas of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, remain safe, warm, and able to continue learning throughout the winter season.
