ISLAMABAD, Apr 9 (APP):Advisor to the Prime Minister on National Security Lt Gen (Retd) Nasser Khan Janjua Monday reiterated Pakistan’s firm resolve to continue moral, political and diplomatic support to Kashmiris till wining right to self-determination.
Addressing a seminar on ‘Human Rights Violations in Occupied Kashmir, time to act now,’ he said the hearts of Pakistanis throbbed with their Kashmiri brethren, whose voice for their right to self-determination could be suppressed. Pakistan was obliged to provide all kinds of support to Kashmiris, he added.
He urged the international community to intervene for ensuring stability in the region. Pakistan wanted result-oriented dialogue with India on the issue of Kashmir as such disputes could not be resolved by using force.
The Kashmir dispute, he said, should be resolved in light of the United Nations resolutions. Peaceful settlement of the dispute could secure the world, he added.
Janjua said status quo was not the solution of long-standing dispute. New generation had inherited their struggle, which could not be suppressed. “Kashmiris are our own blood, and we will help them in wining the right to self-determination,” he added.
He said the long-standing Kashmir dispute had virtually exposed the silence of international community as world powers, leading human right organisations turned blind eye to the atrocities of Indian forces in Kashmir.
The advisor reiterated that the unnoticed plight of Kashmiris showcased double-standards of world powers. Over 700,000 occupied forces humiliated, beat and desecrated the Kashmiris daily, he added.
He said Indian forces were involved in killing innocent Kashmiris unabated.
Responding to a question, he said India violated ceasefire at the Line of Control (LoC) to detract the attention of its atrocities in the occupied valley.
