ISLAMABAD, Mar 22 (APP):Pakistani Christian based in UK Councilor Dr James Shera Friday extended his greetings for Pakistan Day and said Quaid i Azam gave us a vision of a modern democratic nation which promised rights to every citizen.
James Shera also a Sitara-e Pakistan said Prime Minister Imran Khan was following in Quaid’s footsteps. “Imran is facing many challenges but he is moving in the right direction and deserves our support,” he said.
He said this year the nation would be celebrating Pakistan Day with zeal and fervour as there was new government in power, said a press release.
James said the present government came into power nearly seven months ago. “It is too short to achieve any target in any country and more so in Pakistan with back log of systemic stagnation for decades,” he said and added but PTI government has been able to initiate a turnaround in the mindsets of people as well as regarding priorities of the government.
He said it was because of Prime Minister Imran Khan that now we can see that important issues of people like health, education, environment and human rights rank among the higher priorities of the government.
“For me the biggest achievement of this government is giving a turnaround to mindset of the nation as whole by setting the agenda in right direction, re-setting the priority ranking of issues and above all turning the psychology of nation to one of self-respect and receptive to its strengths,” he said.
James advised that minority communities in Pakistan must be treated equally and fairly and empowered to live and work freely in all walks of life, religious freedom should be guaranteed and nobody should be forced to change their religion.
