ITP’s rush-hour plan reduces expressway load by 40 percent

ISLAMABAD, Dec 09 (APP):Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) issued a special traffic advisory for Tuesday morning (7 AM to 10 AM) to manage peak-hour congestion, resulting in a significant reduction of traffic pressure on the Islamabad Expressway.
An ITP official told APP on Tuesday that both loops connecting IJP Road to the Expressway and Murree Road to the Expressway at Faizabad remained closed for traffic, where diversions were placed to streamline vehicle flow.

Traffic from DHA, Bahria Town & Koral: Use Islamabad Expressway to enter the capital.  The spokesperson said these arrangements were introduced to facilitate citizens during morning rush hours and maintain smooth flow on major corridors.
He added that today, due to the successful implementation of this alternative traffic plan, traffic load on the Islamabad Expressway decreased by nearly 40 percent, enabling commuters to reach their destinations 20 to 25 minutes faster than usual.
ITP urged motorists to follow the recommended alternative routes during peak hours and cooperate with officers deployed across key points. For latest traffic updates, citizens may contact the Traffic Helpline 1915 or Pukar-15, the advisory added.
