Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) announced major road diversions for the Independence Day celebrations scheduled at Yadgar-e-Fatah, H-8, on August 13, while imposing a 48-hour ban on the entry of heavy traffic into the federal capial from midnight on August 12 until midnight on August 14.

An ITP official told APP on Wednesday that the restrictions for light traffic would cover several key arteries leading towards the venue, including sections of Islamabad Expressway, Faisal Avenue, Srinagar Highway and roads around H-8 and Shakarparian, with designated alternate routes provided for motorists.
The official clarified that the 48-hour restriction applies to the entry of heavy traffic into the federal capital, while the separately announced diversions and road closures would regulate light traffic in connection with the August 13 celebrations.
