ITP issues traffic plan for 4th Muharram procession

Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) on Saturday issued a traffic management plan for the 4th Muharram procession in Bhara Kahu and advised commuters to use alternate routes to avoid inconvenience. 

ISLAMABAD, Jun 20 (APP): Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) on Saturday issued a traffic management plan for the 4th Muharram procession in Bhara Kahu and advised commuters to use alternate routes to avoid inconvenience.
An ITP official told APP that the procession would commence from the residence of Jalal Hussain in Bhara Kahu and proceed through Baithak Bari Imam before concluding at Imambargah Rabi-e-Risalat via Murree Road.
The official said traffic diversions would remain in place along the procession route to ensure the smooth movement of mourners and maintain security arrangements.
According to the traffic plan, traffic on Murree Road would be diverted from Omania U-turn to CDI U-turn during the procession. Traffic moving from Malpur Bypass towards Murree would also be diverted.
The official said motorists travelling from Bhara Kahu to Kohsar Block would be required to use Shahpur Road as an alternate route.
Similarly, commuters travelling from Murree towards Islamabad have also been advised to use Shahpur Road to avoid delays.
The official said motorists travelling from Islamabad to Murree should use the Bypass Road as an alternative route during the procession.
Citizens were requested to cooperate with traffic police, follow diversion plans and use alternate routes during the procession to ensure smooth traffic flow.
The official advised road users to follow Islamabad Traffic Police social media platforms and tune in to FM 92.4 for the latest traffic updates and guidance.
