ISLAMABAD, Oct 03 (APP):Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) has issued a special traffic diversion plan as Yadgar-e-Fatah is being opened to the public with a special ceremony in Islamabad on Saturday evening, announcing road closures, diversions and alternative routes to facilitate motorists.
An ITP official told APP on Saturday that special traffic arrangements had been made around the venue and advised motorists to follow the diversion plan to avoid inconvenience.
The public programme at Yadgar-e-Fatah, a monument commemorating Pakistan’s victory in Marka-e-Haq, will feature a musical programme and a projection-mapping show highlighting Marka-e-Haq.
The programme will begin at 8:00 pm, according to information about the event. Live performances will include Pakistan Got Talent Season 1 winner Fawad Alam Khan, Pakistan Idol finalist Maham Tahir, Nabeel Abbas and Aryan Naveed.
From Sunday onwards, Yadgar-e-Fatah will remain open to visitors from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm from Tuesday to Sunday, while it will remain closed on Mondays.
Entry will be through free tickets, which can be obtained from the Yadgar-e-Fatah website, yadgarefatah.com.
The ITP issued the following traffic arrangements for Saturday’s programme:
Road Closures:
1. The service road from Al-Shifa Hospital towards the Federal Board will remain closed to traffic.
2. Faiz Ahmed Faiz Road from Beaconhouse towards Jaffar Khan Jamali Road will remain closed to traffic.
Traffic Diversions:
1. Traffic coming from Sahibzada Abdul Qayyum Road will be diverted towards Sector I-8 Service Road East.
2. Traffic at Al-Shifa Signal will be diverted towards Mir Chakar Road.
Alternative Routes:
1. Motorists can use Mir Chakar Road as an alternative route.
2. Motorists can use Patras Bukhari Road as an alternative route.
3. Motorists can also use Sector I-8 Main Double Road.
The ITP requested visitors to park their vehicles only at designated parking areas and cooperate with traffic police personnel deployed to regulate traffic.
Citizens were advised to plan their journeys according to the diversion plan and use the suggested alternative routes.

It is pertinent to mention here that the Yadgar-e-Fatah was formally inaugurated in August by President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif.
The monument was built to honour the country’s martyrs and commemorate Marka-e-Haq.
