ISLAMABAD, Jan 04 (APP):Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) has announced a traffic diversion plan in view of a religious rally being held on Sunday to ensure smooth traffic flow and facilitate commuters.
An ITP spokesperson told APP that traffic diversions will remain in effect from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm, and citizens are advised to use alternative routes to avoid inconvenience.
Aabpara Chowk (Srinagar Highway towards Aabpara Chowk via Suhrawardy Road) will remain completely closed for traffic. Motorists are advised to use Seventh Avenue from Srinagar Highway as an alternative route. The Shell Pump towards Aabpara Chowk (Suhrawardy Road) will also remain closed for traffic. Road users are advised to use the Srinagar Highway via Old MNA Hostel Road. Melody Chowk towards Aabpara Chowk (via Municipal Road, Suhrawardy Road) will remain closed for traffic. Citizens travelling from Lal Masjid towards Aabpara should use Shaheed-e-Millat Road.
Chand Tara (Seventh Avenue) towards Aabpara Chowk via Suhrawardy Road will also remain completely closed for traffic. Motorists should use the Srinagar Highway.
The spokesperson said that Islamabad Traffic Police officers will remain deployed on roads to guide citizens and manage traffic during the diversion period.
He advised commuters to plan their journeys and cooperate with traffic police personnel performing duties on the ground.
