ISLAMABAD, Oct 19 (APP): Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) issued a special traffic advisory for October 20–29, coinciding with the Pakistan–South Africa Test series at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
An official told APP on Sunday that practice sessions will be held on Saturday and Sunday, while cricket teams will move between Islamabad and Rawalpindi during the tournament. For smooth traffic management, 310 traffic officers will be deployed across the capital.
According to the advisory, citizens are requested to use the following alternate routes during peak school and office hours as traffic flow on Expressway and Srinagar Highway may be affected:
Citizens traveling from Margalla Road towards Khanna should use Faisal Avenue via Blue Area, Club Road, and Lehtrar Road.
Travelers heading to sectors G-9, G-10, G-11, and Tarnol should use Faisal Avenue through the F-10 road.
Those coming from Rawalpindi Saddar towards Islamabad should take Srinagar Highway via Peshawar Mor.
Commuters entering Islamabad through IJP Road should use Sabzi Mandi Road.
The official said ITP personnel will remain deployed on service roads to guide commuters and provide assistance.
“Citizens are advised to plan their journeys with extra travel time and remain patient during cricket movements. ITP is committed to minimizing inconvenience,” the spokesperson added.
ITP further advised that citizens can obtain real-time updates through Traffic Helpline 1915, emergency helpline Pukar-15, and FM 92.4.
