ITP Issues traffic advisory for cricket teams’ Movement

Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) on Wednesday issued a traffic advisory for the movement of cricket teams, announcing diversions at different points on Islamabad Expressway, Srinagar Highway, Murree Road and Club Road.

ISLAMABAD, Oct 07 (APP):Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) on Wednesday issued a traffic advisory for the movement of cricket teams, announcing diversions at different points on Islamabad Expressway, Srinagar Highway, Murree Road and Club Road.
An ITP official told APP  that traffic diversions would remain in place at different locations during the teams’ movement. Motorists were advised to use alternative routes and leave 20 to 25 minutes earlier than their normal travel time.
Srinagar Highway:
Traffic diversions will be placed at different points from Serena Chowk to Ninth Avenue. Motorists using Srinagar Highway can use Suhrawardy Road, G-8 Service Road, G-9 Service Road and Zero Point. Traffic towards Faizabad can use Faisal Avenue, while motorists from Ninth Avenue can use Service Road East.
Koral to Islamabad:
Motorists travelling from Koral towards Islamabad can use Old Airport Road, Rawal Road, Rawalpindi Murree Road, I.J. Principal Road and Faqir Aipee Road.
Koral Expressway, Murree Road and Club Road:
In case these roads are closed, motorists can use Lehtrar Road and Park Road as alternative routes.
Islamabad to Outgoing Routes:
Motorists travelling out of Islamabad can use Jinnah Avenue and Margalla Road.
Bhara Kahu to Islamabad:
Motorists coming from Bhara Kahu towards Islamabad can use Bani Gala and Park Road.
The official said traffic pressure was likely to increase on major roads during the diversions and advised citizens to allow an extra 20 to 25 minutes for their journeys.
ITP officers will remain deployed on the roads to facilitate motorists. Citizens were also advised to follow Islamabad Police’s official social media pages for further traffic updates.
