ISLAMABAD, Feb 18 (APP): Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) has finalised a comprehensive traffic management plan for the holy month of Ramazan during a special meeting chaired by Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Captain (R) Hamza Humayun at the Traffic Headquarters, Faizabad.
An ITP official told APP on Wednesday that the meeting reviewed traffic challenges expected during Ramazan and approved a detailed plan to ensure smooth flow of traffic and maximum facilitation for citizens across the federal capital.

The CTO said more than 450 officers and personnel will be deployed at mosques, Imambargahs, major markets, Ramazan Sahulat bazaars, as well as Sunday and weekly bazaars, where traffic pressure traditionally increases during the holy month.
Hamzah said additional traffic personnel will remain deployed during peak hours of Sehr, Iftar and Taraweeh prayers to avert congestion and ensure uninterrupted traffic movement.
He said special attention will be given to parking management outside places of worship and busy commercial centres to minimise inconvenience to commuters.
The official said special traffic squads will be stationed at Ramazan bazaars, Sunday bazaars and major commercial areas to regulate traffic and assist citizens, while help desks will be set up at selected locations after Iftar to guide road users.
CTO Hamzah directed senior officers, including the SP Traffic and zonal DSPs, to remain present in the field for effective supervision throughout Ramazan.
Hamzah emphasised that traffic officials must maintain a courteous, patient and professional conduct towards the public, adding that misconduct with citizens would not be tolerated.

He said a special crackdown will also be launched against one-wheeling, reckless driving and traffic violations after Sehr and Iftar, with strict legal action against violators.
Separate traffic and parking arrangements have also been finalised for Faisal Mosque, where a large number of worshippers are expected during Taraweeh prayers.
He said Islamabad Traffic Police remains committed to ensuring road safety, smooth traffic flow and maximum public convenience during the holy month of Ramazan.
