ISLAMABAD, Jul 02 (APP):Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) have announced special traffic arrangements for the 6th Muharram procession scheduled.
An official told APP on Wednesday that the procession will start from street number 22 before concluding at Imambargah Jafriya in I-9/1.
He said that during the procession, the service road adjacent to I-9/1 will remain closed for all types of traffic to ensure the safety of participants.
He said commuters may use alternative routes including IJP Road and Warsak Road near the I-9 Markaz to avoid inconvenience.
He further stated that Street 18 and the service road near Imambargah I-9/1 will also be closed for vehicular movement during the event.
He advised citizens to use the alternative routes, including Mangal Bazaar I-9 and the IJP Principal Road, for smooth travel during the procession.
“Citizens are requested to avoid illegal parking around the procession route,” said CTO Captain (R) Zeeshan Haider, adding that all vehicles should be parked in designated areas.
He urged the public to cooperate with traffic police officials and follow instructions to maintain order and safety throughout the procession.
