ISLAMABAD, Nov 07 (APP):Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) on Saturday issued a traffic advisory announcing diversions at different points along Islamabad Expressway, Srinagar Highway and other major roads due to the movement of cricket teams, advising motorists to allow an additional 20 to 25 minutes for their journeys.
An ITP official told APP on Saturday that traffic diversions would be imposed at different locations along Srinagar Highway between Serena Chowk and Ninth Avenue to facilitate the movement of cricket teams.
He said motorists using Srinagar Highway could take Suhrawardy Road, G-8 Service Road, G-9 Service Road and Zero Point as alternative routes. Traffic heading towards Faizabad could use Faisal Avenue, while motorists travelling towards Ninth Avenue should use Service Road East.
The official said citizens travelling from Koral towards Islamabad could use the old airport route, Rawal Road, Rawalpindi’s Murree Road, IJP Road and Faqir Aipee Road.
He said motorists could use Lehtrar Road and Park Road as alternative routes in case of closures on Koral Expressway, Murree Road and Club Road.
Similarly, citizens travelling out of Islamabad were advised to use Jinnah Avenue and Margalla Road, while those coming from Bhara Kahu towards Islamabad could travel through Bani Gala and Park Road.
The official warned that traffic congestion was expected on major roads during the diversions and urged citizens to plan their journeys accordingly.
He said ITP personnel would remain deployed at different locations to guide motorists and facilitate smooth traffic movement.
