ISLAMABAD, Aug 5 (APP):Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja on Wednesday reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering support for the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), saying the country stood firmly with Kashmiris on Youm-e-Istehsal.
In her message, the minister said India’s unilateral actions of August 5, 2019, violated the United Nations Security Council resolutions and international law.
She said India had failed to break the resolve of the Kashmiri people or deny them their internationally recognised right to self-determination, despite the passage of seven years.
Shaza Fatima Khawaja said a just and peaceful settlement of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute was vital for lasting peace and stability in South Asia.
She called on the international community to move beyond statements of concern and take practical steps to help resolve the Kashmir dispute in line with the aspirations of the Kashmiri people and the relevant UN resolutions.
The minister said a peaceful resolution of the Kashmir dispute remained a key pillar of Pakistan’s foreign policy.
She reiterated that Pakistan would continue to extend its political, diplomatic and moral support to the people of Kashmir at every regional and international forum.
