ISLAMABAD, Nov 07 (APP):All arrangements for the upcoming Inter-Parliamentary Speakers Conference (ISC) in Islamabad have been finalised, with speakers, deputy speakers, and parliamentary representatives from more than 40 countries expected to participate.
Media Advisor to the Senate Chairman, Mian Khurram Rasoo, said the Senate Chairman is personally overseeing the preparations and administrative matters of the conference daily to ensure its smooth and successful execution.
Calling the event a historic and diplomatic milestone for Pakistan, Rasool said the two-day conference — scheduled to take place in Islamabad from November 11 to 12, 2025 — will revolve around the theme “Promoting Peace, Security, and Development.”
He recalled that Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani was unanimously elected as the founding Chairman of the Inter-Parliamentary Speakers Conference during a session held in Seoul, South Korea, in April 2025.
The unanimous election, he added, reflects the global parliamentary community’s trust and respect for Pakistan’s leadership.
The advisor said various sessions during the conference will deliberate on parliamentary diplomacy and other key international challenges.
The gathering will also focus on climate action, sustainable development, and equitable resource distribution, alongside discussions on establishing new frameworks for cooperation and collective progress.
Highlighting the vision of the Senate Chairman, Khurram Rasool said Gilani envisions a peaceful, interconnected, and prosperous global society, where parliaments actively contribute beyond legislation — fostering peace, stability, and sustainable development.
He expressed confidence that the global parliamentary forum in Islamabad would further strengthen Pakistan’s parliamentary identity, enhance its international standing, and deepen diplomatic engagement with countries across the world.
