ISLAMABAD, May 06 (APP):Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police and Rawalpindi police have decided to interlink their Safe City systems to strengthen crime tracing and ensure faster response against criminal activities, particularly vehicle theft cases.
An official told APP on Wednesday that the decision was taken during a meeting between SSP Operations Islamabad Qazi Ali Raza and SSP Safe City Rawalpindi Aamna Baig.
He said Assistant Director Safe City Islamabad Abbas Mehdi and other officers also attended the meeting.
The official said detailed discussions were held regarding crime tracing and measures to resolve vehicle theft cases within the shortest possible time.
He said both sides agreed that interconnecting the Safe City systems of Islamabad and Rawalpindi would improve real-time coordination, quick response and effectiveness of joint operations.
The official said emphasis was laid on ensuring 24-hour monitoring and strengthening coordination between police of both districts to ensure swift arrest of criminal elements and protection of citizens’ lives and property.
He said SSP Operations Islamabad Qazi Ali Raza later chaired a separate meeting of zonal SPs to review law and order, crime prevention and security measures across the city.
The meeting was attended by SP Saddar Zone Kazim Naqvi, SP Sawan Zone Muhammad Khurram Ashraf, SP City Zone Dr. Ayaz Hussain, SP Rural Zone Zeeshan Ali, SP Industrial Area Zone Hasnain Waris and other officers.
 SSP Qazi Ali Raza directed officers to conclude under-investigation cases at the earliest and utilize all available resources to arrest suspects involved in murder and attempted murder cases.
He said targeted operations were ordered against proclaimed offenders, active gangs, drug dealers, illegal arms holders and land-grabbing mafias.
SSP also directed officers to make patrolling more effective and ensure visible presence of all patrol units in the field.
He warned that negligence in duties would not be tolerated under any circumstances, adding that protection of citizens’ lives and property remained the top priority of Islamabad Police.
