ISLAMABAD, Jul 29 (APP): A candidate appearing for the Islamabad Police recruitment process lost his life after suffering a heart attack during the physical endurance test at Police Lines Headquarters.
An ICT Police official confirmed the incident to APP on Wednesday and said the candidate, identified as Ishaq, son of Muhammad Ayaz Khan, a resident of Kotka Khan Khel, Ghazni Khel, Sarai Naurang, Lakki Marwat, suffered a heart attack while participating in the running test and collapsed.
The official said fellow candidates and police staff immediately provided assistance and shifted him to the Police Lines ambulance, which transported him to the emergency department of the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS).
However, doctors at PIMS declared him dead on arrival.
The official said that the body would be handed over to the family after completion of legal formalities, while necessary medical and legal procedures had been initiated.
