Islamabad goes digital: manual stamp papers end on Feb 12

ISLAMABAD, Feb 11 (APP): Islamabad has completed a full shift to electronic stamping, ending the use of manual stamp papers from February 12 2026.
From 13 February 2026, no office, court, or authority in the Islamabad Capital Territory will accept manual judicial or non-judicial stamp papers. The move aims to streamline documentation and curb misuse through a single digital system.
According to the official directive, all government departments and courts in the capital will process stamp duties only through the e-stamping platform. Any document submitted with a manual stamp paper after the deadline will be considered invalid for official purposes.
The administration has also issued instructions to licensed stamp vendors. Vendors have been directed to deposit their stamp paper stock and sales registers with the Assistant Deputy Commissioner (Revenue). The deposit process will ensure record closure and prevent further circulation of manual stamps.
Officials said the transition will standardize stamp duty payments and create a verifiable digital trail for each transaction. Citizens will now obtain stamp papers through authorized electronic channels, reducing delays and improving access across the capital.
The Islamabad administration advised the public to complete pending documentation using manual stamp papers before 12 February 2026. After that date, only e-stamped documents will be accepted in all legal, property, and administrative matters within the federal capital.
