ISLAMABAD, Jan 19 (APP):Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhary on Monday told the National Assembly that all furniture expos organized in Islamabad were held strictly in accordance with legal and administrative requirements.
Responding to a Calling Attention Notice in the House, he said that no expo or public event is allowed in Islamabad without obtaining a proper No Objection Certificate (NOC).
The minister said that the NOC is issued only after receiving clearance reports from relevant departments, including the Islamabad Capital Territory Administration, Police, Special Branch and Traffic Police, to ensure that there is no law and order or traffic issue for the citizens.
Talal Chaudhary informed that six furniture expos were held, all with proper NOCs, after payment of prescribed fees and completion of due process.
He said that none of these expos caused any law and order problem, traffic disruption, or security concern.
The minister said that such expos promote business activity and should be encouraged, saying that Pakistan’s furniture industry, including Chinioti furniture is well known internationally and contributes to exports.
He said that exhibitors are properly registered and their details are shared with all relevant departments, including tax authorities.
