Ishaq Dar directs swift establishment of excellence centre for Autism in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD, Jun 30 (APP):Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Tuesday directed the relevant institutions to employ global best practices for ensuring quality education and services catering needs of special children and expedite work to implement government’s resolve to establish the Excellence Center.
He was chairing Advisory Board Meeting of the Centre of Excellence for Autism, Islamabad.
The meeting reviewed progress and discussed measures to strengthen inclusive education, early intervention, and support services for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), reaffirming the Government of Pakistan’s commitment to creating a comprehensive support environment for persons with autism.
Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training gave a detailed briefing to the committee highlighting steps taken to establish a state of the art Center for Excellence to Autistic Children in Islamabad. Comments of renowned experts in this field were also invited by the Committee.
The meeting was attended by SAPM Tariq Bajwa, Federal Secretaries of Education and Health and senior officials from relevant departments.
