ISLAMABAD, Oct 14 (APP): An Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) mission has visited a vaccination centre in Islamabad to engage with frontline health workers, vaccinators, surveillance personnel and parents to assess field-level challenges and explore ways to strengthen polio eradication efforts and routine immunisation.
The visit to the CDA Medical Centre in Rawal Town, Union Council G-5, was part of the IsDB’s PCR mission to Pakistan.
The delegation included Dr. Sadik Mohammed Teyeb, Operations Team Leader, and Muhammad Ali Yazdani, IsDB Representative in Pakistan.
During the visit, the delegation held discussions with frontline workers and vaccination teams on their field experiences, community engagement, operational challenges and the support required to improve campaign implementation and routine immunisation services.
The mission also interacted with mothers and parents to understand their experiences with vaccination services, address concerns and gather suggestions for improving access and building public trust.
The discussions provided an opportunity to incorporate the perspectives of healthcare workers and communities into efforts to improve vaccination coverage and ensure that every child receives essential vaccines.
The engagement underscored the importance of community participation, effective field-level coordination and sustained support for frontline teams in strengthening Pakistan’s polio eradication programme and protecting children against the disease.
