ISLAMABAD, Nov 05 (APP): A delegation of Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) on Wednesday visited the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) Headquarters and discussed areas of mutual interest, pertaining to the news exchange service.
The delegation comprised Mr. Ahmad Norouzi, Vice President of the IRIB & Head of IRIB’s World Service, Mr. Abbas Mohammadnejad, Director General for International Affairs of the IRIB, Mr. Morteza Shamsi, Director, Sahar Universal Network and Mr. Ali Mohammed Nafchi, Balochistan Head, IRIB, Iran.
Managing Director, Associated Press of Pakistan (APP), Muhammad Asim Khichi, apprised the delegation about the dynamic role of the state-run-news agency, its countrywide bureaus, stations, district correspondents, and news
service in different languages including English, Urdu, Arabic, Chinese, Sindhi, Balochi, Pashto, and Sariki.

He highlighted APP’s news exchange agreements with more than 45 international news agencies, and briefed about multiple services including social media, reporting, feature service, diplomatic, global news and video news service.
The MD APP informed the delegation about the ongoing mutual exchange of news with Iran’s IRNA news agency.
He asked for provision of detailed proposal to document the Memorandum of Understanding with Iran’s IRIB, adding that APP had huge potential and therefore, a separate accord could be signed as per the rules and policies of the
organization.
Mr. Ahmad Noroozi, Vice President of the IRIB & Head of IRIB’s World Service, said that that the IRIB is the main pillar and media organization of Iran. He said that the media organization offers a distinguished news service. He said that the exchange of news could expand the existing bilateral ties between the two neighboring countries.
Mr. Ahmad Norouzi said that the mutual exchange of journalists and their training programs would also help connect the organizations.
Mr. Ali Mohammed Nafchi, Balochistan Head, IRIB, Iran, said that the exchange of APP’s news with the IRIB would connect people of the two countries beyond their geographical borders.
Mr. Abbas Mohammadnejad, Director General for International Affairs of the IRIB said that the people of Iran take interest in high quality news coverage, pictures and live-streaming of social and political issues. Later, the delegation toured various sections of APP including the Studios and Data Centre.
