ISLAMABAD, Dec 21 (APP): Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Pakistan Reza Amiri Moghadam, Sunday, said that they had the immense honour to warmly welcome the flight of President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari through the Iranian airspace and expressed their sincere appreciation for the goodwill message conveyed by him.
“This gracious and thoughtful gesture is a clear reflection of the deep-rooted bonds of mutual respect, solidarity, and enduring friendship and fraternity between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan,” he said in a post on X handle.
He further posted that the Islamic Republic of Iran reaffirmed its firm commitment to further strengthening bilateral cooperation and elevating relations to new and higher levels.
“Our shared hope and aspiration remain the promotion of peace, stability, development, and the well-being of the entire region,” he added.

President Asif Ali Zardari, on Saturday, had arrived in Baghdad, at the invitation of President of Iraq Dr Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, on a four-day official visit from 20 to 24 December.
“The visit underscores the longstanding, brotherly relations between Pakistan and Iraq, rooted in shared bonds of faith, culture, and mutual respect,” Foreign Office Spokesperson, said in a press statement.
Earlier, a post on President of Pakistan X handle, said that while en-route from Islamabad to Baghdad, President Asif Ali Zardari conveyed a goodwill message to the Iranian leadership as his aircraft entered Iranian airspace, reaffirming solidarity with Iran and emphasising mutual respect and stronger regional relations.
