ISLAMABAD, Nov 21 (APP):COMSTECH, in collaboration with COMSATS University Islamabad, will host an International Conference on “Strengthening STI Policy Implementation for Achieving the SDGs: Challenges and Pathways to Solutions” at the COMSTECH Secretariat on December 8, 2025.
According to the COMSTECH, Science, Technology, and Innovation (STI) remain central to the transformative solutions required for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030, along with the African Union’s Agenda 2063 and the OIC’s Agenda 2026.
The conference will focus that despite considerable progress in drafting STI policies, many developing countries continue to struggle with effective policy implementation, which limits their ability to translate innovation-driven strategies into meaningful development outcomes.
The conference aims to bring together policymakers, researchers, scientists, and experts from OIC Member States and other regions to deliberate on these persistent challenges.
Speakers will examine the underlying constraints that hinder the successful execution of STI policies and discuss global and regional experiences that could guide countries toward stronger innovation systems.
The discussions will also explore ways to deepen understanding of STI governance, improve coordination between institutions, and build coherent frameworks that can support sustainable development.
The event will serve as a platform for participants to exchange knowledge, explore potential collaborations, and contribute to the development of a practical, technical framework that can assist member states in designing and implementing more effective STI policies.
