ISLAMABAD, Oct 20 (APP): Two-day International Conference on Emerging Technologies 2016 (ICET-16) organized by Pakistan Institute of Engineering and Applied Sciences (PIEAS), Islamabad concluded here on Thursday.
PIEAS is one of the leading Institutes of Engineering and
Applied Sciences in the country.
ICET is becoming a platform of leading researchers from
academia and practitioners from industry in Pakistan and abroad to share their innovative ideas, experiences, and cutting-edge research.
The Conference was inaugurated by Former Chairman Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission (PAEC), Engr. Parvez Butt, NI, HI, SI.
He appreciated the efforts of PIEAS to organize such an even
where students academia and International scientists are gathered to share their experiences and knowledge in emerging technologies.
The Conference covered the topics on Biomedical Engineering and Bioinformatics, Communication Techniques and Systems, Computational Fluid Mechanics, Computational Intelligence, Artificial Intelligence, Computational Medical Physics, Computer Aided Analysis, Computer Aided Design, Manufacturing Electromagnetic And Optoelectronics, Fault Diagnosis, Industrial Automation, Control Systems, Mechatronics, Mechanical System Design.
The proceedings also covered Pattern Recognition, Computer Vision, Machine Vision Power Systems and Alternate Energy Resources, Speech, Image, Video And Signal Processing Wireless, Mobile And Sensor Networks and others.

Engineer Syed Yusuf Raza, Member Power, PAEC and Dr. Yinfu Hu of Beijing Vacuum Electronics Research Institute gave their plenary talks.
Very high quality original papers from both academia and
industry were submitted. The review of papers was done extensively.
Reviewers from all over the globe were invited for reviewing.
As many as 82 out of 224 papers were accepted. This shows the quality of conference.
Call for papers was circulated all around the globe. Numerous
papers were submitted from many countries like Australia, Canada, China, Italy, Korea, Saudi Arabia, USA, UAE, UK, Spain etc.
The success of a conference and quality of the papers greatly depends on technical program committee and the reviewers. Reviewers from USA, Germany, France, Canada, Australia, Nepal and various universities and industrial organizations of Pakistan took part in reviewing process.
More than 800 reviews were written from all submissions. For the first time in Pakistan, PIEAS has implemented the online copyright form.
This eased the authors to get rid of sending forms to
conference by post or email.
The conference was concluded by Syed Yusuf Raza, Member Power PAEC.
He appreciated the conference organizers for giving
opportunity to scientists, engineers and academia to share their innovative ideas.
The Conference chair Dr. Mansoor Hameed Inayat, on behalf of organizing committee, thanked PAEC and Higher Education Commission for providing support to organize this very important event.
