Interior Minister reaffirms Pakistan’s unwavering support for Kashmiris on Black Day

ISLAMABAD, Oct 27 (APP):Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering solidarity with the Kashmiri people on Kashmir Black Day, marking 79 years since India’s occupation of Jammu and Kashmir on October 27, 1947.
He said the people of Kashmir had not bowed before Indian oppression and continued to stand firm in their struggle for freedom.
In his message on the occasion, Naqvi paid tribute to the Kashmiri people for resisting what he described as Indian oppression and said their sacrifices for freedom deserved recognition.
The minister said India’s occupation of Jammu and Kashmir on October 27, 1947, marked a dark chapter in history. He added that Indian forces had turned the occupied valley into a place of suffering through state terrorism since 1947.
Naqvi said thousands of Kashmiri youth had sacrificed their lives in the struggle for freedom. He added that the military siege had turned the valley into a prison where voices were being suppressed.
The interior minister said the international community’s silence over what he described as Indian atrocities was a criminal act. He stressed that the situation in occupied Kashmir required the attention of the world.
Referring to the words of Pakistan’s founder, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Naqvi recalled his statement that “Kashmir is Pakistan’s jugular vein.” He said this remained the voice of every Pakistani and reflected the country’s position on the Kashmir dispute.
The minister said lasting peace in South Asia depended on a just resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute. He stressed that a fair settlement of the issue was necessary to establish sustainable peace in the region.
Naqvi reaffirmed that Pakistan would continue to extend political, diplomatic and moral support to the Kashmiri people at every international forum.
He said Pakistan stood with the people of Kashmir in their struggle and would continue to raise their cause before the international community.
