Intending pilgrims to get immigration facility in Pakistan: Aviation Minister

KARACHI, Apr 11 (APP):Federal Minister for Aviation and Privatization Muhammad Mian Soomro on Thursday said that the Pakistani pilgrims would be extended immigration facility on their departure from Pakistan, which would save sufficient time.

The Federal Minister said this in a media briefing at the
headquarters of Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) here.

Muhammad Mian Soomro pointed out that the immigration facility to
intending pilgrims in Pakistan would save their time around 6 to 7 hours.

The facility is extended due to efforts and initiative of
Prime Minister Imran Khan, he added.

He said that flight operations would be re-started from airports
at Northern Areas. Restoration of flight operations would help further promote tourism and also create more jobs for the people.

Speaking about the plantation campaign, the Federal Minister said more than 100,000 saplings would be planted by the CAA during the campaign.

Muhammad Mian Soomro said that steps are being taken for revival of the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) and the losses of PIA had been reducing.

He told a questioner that matter with regard to provision of land
by CAA for University in Hyderabad was under consideration.

He told another questioner that the process to appoint a
permanent Director General of CAA was underway.
