ISLAMABAD, Jul 23 (APP): Federal Minister for Railways Muhammad Hanif Abbasi on Wednesday stressed the need for “integrated and results-oriented efforts” to make Pakistan Railways a modern, active, and people-friendly institution.
Chairing a high-level meeting, the Minister stressed the need to outline fresh objectives, bolster monsoon preparedness, and initiate new projects inspired by national resolve.
All Divisional Superintendents (DSs) participated in the meeting online, reaffirming their commitment to coordinated efforts aimed at improving Pakistan’s railway system.
Upholding honesty, dedication, and national spirit in service is the urgent need of the hour for Pakistan Railways,” said Hanif Abbasi.
The Minister called for immediate inspection of all railway bridges, tracks, and infrastructure to mitigate monsoon-related risks. He emphasized the urgent need for proactive safety measures to prevent potential accidents.
The Minister underscored the importance of railway personnel performing their duties with renewed national pride and dedication, aiming to elevate service standards and improve public perception of Pakistan Railways.

Abbasi said renovation work is underway at railway stations across Punjab under the “Saath Sutthra Punjab” (Clean Punjab) campaign. The initiative aims to modernize facilities and implement a sustained system of sanitation, waste management, and cleanliness across the network.
Federal Minister for Railways Muhammad Hanif Abbasi said Pakistan Railways has launched a strict campaign against ticketless travel, warning that both violators and facilitators will face imprisonment.
Appealing to the public for cooperation, he stated, “Railways are our national asset,” and emphasized that the initiative is part of broader efforts to enhance services and improve the passenger experience.
