Pakistan open to any mechanism to bring about peace in Afghanistan: Ambassador

ISLAMABAD July 13 ( APP): Pakistan on Wednesday said “inhumane and oppressive measures” cannot deter the valiant people of Jammu and Kashmir from their demand of exercising their right to self-determination in accordance with UN Security Council resolutions.

Foreign Secretary Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry briefed the
Islamabad-based Ambassadors of the member countries of the OIC Contact Group on Jammu and Kashmir.

The Foreign Office also briefed the ambassadors of
Permanent-5 countries on Tuesday about the excessive use of force against innocent civilians, as part of efforts to
apprise the world of unchecked atrocities against the Kashmiri people by Indian military forces.

The Ambassadors of Azerbaijan, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and
Niger were informed about the tense situation in Indian
Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IOK) and conveyed Pakistan’s serious concern over the brutal killings of innocent civilians and violation of their fundamental human rights by Indian Security Forces, a statement said.

The Foreign Secretary said in view of the spirit of
solidarity and brotherhood in Muslim Ummah, the OIC member states should raise their voice against the blatant human rights violations of innocent Kashmiri Muslims in IOK.

While appreciating the continued support of OIC member
states to the people of Jammu and Kashmir for the realization of their right to self determination, the Foreign Secretary said Muslims of Indian Occupied Kashmir look towards their Muslims brothers at this difficult and challenging time.
