ISLAMABAD, Aug 4 (APP):Federal Secretary for Information and Broadcasting Ashfaq Ahmad Khalil on Tuesday said steps would be taken for the professional uplift of Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) and for the welfare of the organization’s employees.
Speaking to the APP staffers after chairing the 35th meeting of the Board of Directors (BoD) here at the headquarters, the Secretary Information assured his support in addressing the pending issues of on priority.
The BoD meeting reviewed and approved the agenda items relating to APP’s administrative and financial matters.
Acting Managing Director APP Sabeen Usman Khattak and senior APP officials attended the meeting along with the BoD members including Principal Information Officer Raisa Adil, Director General Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation Saeed Sheikh, seasoned journalist Muhammad Nawaz Raza and Joint Secretary Expenditure Finance Division Izhar Ahmed. Senator Sarmad Ali, Head of Mass Communication Department of Punjab University Noshina Saleem and Director General Internal Publicity Ashique Sheikh joined the meeting through video link.
The employees of APP expressed gratitude to the Information Secretary, BoD members and the APP management for their efforts in smooth approval of BoD’s agenda items.
