Indian Sikh Pilgrims Arrive in Lahore for Guru Arjan Dev Ji Martyrdom Anniversary Celebrations

ISLAMABAD, Jun 15 (APP): Indian Sikh pilgrims visiting Pakistan to participate in the annual celebrations marking the martyrdom anniversary (Jor Mela) of Guru Arjan Dev Ji have arrived in Lahore after completing their pilgrimage to Gurdwara Darbar Sahib Kartarpur and Gurdwara Rohri Sahib in Eminabad.
The pilgrims expressed satisfaction with the arrangements made for their visit and thanked the Government of Pakistan and the Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) for facilitating their pilgrimage and ensuring their comfort.
The Sikh pilgrims will stay at Gurdwara Dera Sahib in Lahore for three days.
The main ceremony commemorating the martyrdom of Guru Arjan Dev Ji will be held there on Tuesday, June 16, at 9:00 a.m.
Chairman of the Evacuee Trust Property Board, Qamar-ul-Zaman, will attend the event as the chief guest.
Other participants will include Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (PSGPC) President Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora, Additional Secretary Shrines Nasir Mushtaq, visiting Sikh pilgrims from India, and a large number of local Sikh devotees.
The Evacuee Trust Property Board has finalized comprehensive arrangements for the pilgrims, including accommodation, langar (community meals), sanitation, transportation, medical facilities, and foolproof security measures. Rescue 1122 personnel and ETPB medical teams are also accompanying the pilgrims throughout their stay.
The Indian Sikh pilgrims are scheduled to conclude their visit and return to India on June 19, 2026.
