KARACHI, Aug 14 (APP): As elsewhere in the country the 70th Independence Day of Pakistan was celebrated with due fervour and enthusiasm.

The day dawned with special prayers for the progress and prosperity of the country.

A 21-gun-salute was presented in the provincial metropolis.

The change of guard ceremony was held at the mausoleum of Founder of Pakistan, Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.

A contingent of the cadets of the Pakistan Naval Academy assumed the Guards’ Duty at the Mazar.

The chief guest on the occasion was commandant of Pakistan Naval Academy, Commodore Adnan Ahmed.

He also laid a wreath at the Mazar and offered Fateha.

Governor Sindh Dr. Ishrat ul Ebad Khan, along with Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, and members of the provincial cabinet performed the flag hoisting at the Mazar, laid a wreath and offered Fateha.
