Imran Khan felicitates Mahinda Rajapaksa on his appointment as Sri Lankan PM

ISLAMABAD, Nov 21 (APP):Prime Minister Imran Khan Thursday telephoned Mahinda Rajapaksa to felicitate him on his appointment as Prime Minister of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka.

He lauded the progress made by Sri Lanka during Rajapaksa’s two terms as the president.

The prime minister expressed his desire to work closely with his Sri Lankan counterpart to further strengthen Pakistan-Sri Lanka bilateral relations in all dimensions.

He also extended an invitation to Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa to visit Pakistan.  

The Sri Lankan prime minister thanked Prime Minister Imran Khan for his felicitations and said he looked forward to working together to further strengthen Sri Lanka-Pakistan relations.

Earlier Prime Minister Imran Khan, in a tweet on Thursday, extended his felicitations to Mahinda Rajapaksa on his appointment as the Prime Minister of Sri Lanka, saying he was looking forward to work closely with him and his government to further develop Pak-Sri Lank historical friendship and partnership, and find avenues for deepening cooperation between the two nations.
