Impressive wreath laying ceremony held at Yadgar-e-Shuhada Quetta

RAWALPINDI, Sep 06 (APP):An impressive wreath laying ceremony was held at Yadgar-e-Shuhada,Quetta Cantt on Thursday to mark the 53rd Defence Day of Pakistan.
Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Jam Kamal and Commander
Southern Command Lieutenant General Asim Saleem Bajwa jointly laid a wreath to
pay homage to the martyrs, who laid down their lives for the defence of the
motherland, said a press release issued by Inter-Services Public Relations
(ISPR).
A special ‘dua’ was also offered for all the Shuhada (martyrs).
Later, Mir Jam Kamal and Commander Southern Command
attended a reception given in honour of the families of Shuhada. While speaking
to the families of the martyrs Chief Minister Balochistan said that the
sacrifice of their loved ones would never be forgotten. Pakistani nation would
always remember the supreme sacrifice of those, who laid down their lives to
ensure the sanctity of the country, he added.
Commander Southern Command, Lieutenant General Asim Saleem
Bajwa also paid rich tribute to the martyrs stating that Pakistan Army had a
rich tradition of chivalry and sacrifices of its Shuhada was a golden chapter
in the history of Pakistan. He said that security forces with the backing
and support of the nation were ready to take on any challenge. He also vowed to
help the government of Balochistan for the capacity building of law enforcement
agencies. He said that Pakistan Army had chalked out a comprehensive training
programme for police and levies, which would enable them to combat terrorism
and enforce the writ of the government.
Senators, parliamentarians, general officers and high ranking
civil and military officials attended the ceremony.
