ISLAMABAD, Oct 07 (APP): Islamabad Medical & Dental College (IMDC) on Wednesday conducted a free hepatitis C screening and awareness camp at Al-Firdous Community Model School and College.
The one-day community health initiative was organized by IMDC’s Department of Community Medicine as part of its community outreach activities.
The medical team conducted awareness sessions and free diagnostic screening for community members. A total of 124 individuals, including 114 students and staff members as well as local shopkeepers and residents, were screened during the camp.
The initiative also helped identify reactive cases and facilitated their referral through an institutional pathway for further evaluation and treatment at the hospital.
The management of Al-Firdous School and College and members of the local community appreciated IMDC’s efforts and expressed support for future health screening and awareness campaigns.
The initiative reflects IMDC’s focus on preventive healthcare, community-based screening and increasing awareness about hepatitis C and its early detection.
