Ikhtiar Wali accuses KP government of poor governance, neglecting public services

Coordinator to the Prime Minister on Information for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Affairs Ikhtiar Wali Khan on Saturday criticised the provincial government over alleged poor governance, financial mismanagement and inadequate public services.

ISLAMABAD, Oct 10 (APP):Coordinator to the Prime Minister on Information for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Affairs Ikhtiar Wali Khan on Saturday criticised the provincial government over alleged poor governance, financial mismanagement and inadequate public services.
Addressing a press conference along with Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, he said 18 of the 34 universities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were on the verge of bankruptcy, alleging that the absence of vice chancellors had also disrupted their functioning.
Wali said that while people complained about poor roads in Karachi, residents of KP visiting the city considered its roads better than those in their own province.
He urged people and journalists in KP to highlight what he described as the ground realities, claiming that residents were dissatisfied with the state of healthcare facilities.
He also criticised the provincial government’s handling of police and counterterrorism, describing the KP police as a force of martyrs while alleging that personnel had been left without adequate weapons. He further accused the provincial government of withholding funds allocated to the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD).
Wali also levelled allegations of corruption against provincial ministers and criticised the government’s performance.
“The people of KP need peace, health facilities and a political culture based on tolerance, acceptance and respect,” he said.
