IHC withdraws arrest warrants for Sec Interior

ISLAMABAD, Jan 27 (APP):The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Tuesday withdrew the arrest warrants for Secretary Interior after he appeared before the court following its instructions in a case pertaining to blockage of a citizen’s CNIC.
Chief Justice Sardar Sarfraz Dogar heard the contempt of court case after the petition to restore Panda Khan’s blocked identity card by declaring him an Afghan citizen was sent to the Interior Secretary as a representation but no decision was made.
The court issued an arrest warrant for the Interior Secretary for not deciding on the representation, which was withdrawn when the Interior Secretary appeared.
After the warrant was issued, the Interior Secretary appeared in court along with the IG Islamabad. It was told in the court that the Interior Secretary had sent the representation to NADRA along with the speaking order.
Chief Justice Sarfaraz Dogar said that before passing the order, you should have called and heard the other party as well. The Interior Secretary assured to decide on the citizen’s request.
