ISLAMABAD, Sep 02 (APP):The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday suspended, until the next hearing, the Capital Development Authority’s decision to cancel the recruitment process for several posts, including Assistant Director and Building Inspector.
Justice Khadim Hussain Soomro issued a two-page written order after hearing the petitions challenging the cancellation of the recruitment process.
The court also issued notices to the Chairman CDA and other respondents, directing them to submit their replies by September 8.
The CDA has been restrained from issuing fresh advertisements for the posts and from filling the vacancies through promotions or transfers until further orders.
During the proceedings, counsel for the petitioners, Advocate Riasat Ali Azad, submitted that the CDA had advertised several posts, including Assistant Director and Building Inspector, in February 2025.
According to the counsel, the authority collected around Rs140 million from candidates as processing fees during the recruitment process, while 538 candidates were shortlisted after qualifying the tests and interviews.
The Federal Ombudsman had directed the CDA to issue the merit list, but instead of publishing the list, the authority cancelled the entire recruitment process, the counsel contended.
The affected candidates have challenged the CDA’s cancellation notifications before the Islamabad High Court.
The court adjourned further hearing of the case until September 8.
