ISLAMABAD, Jan 26 (APP):The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday served notices to respondents in an appeal against the acquittal of convict Shahnawaz Amir’s mother in Sara Inaam murder case.
A two-judge bench comprising Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir and Justice Inaam Ameen Minhas heard the case.
The defense lawyer Raja Rizwan Abbasi said that Samina Shah’s acquittal plea should be decided first. He claimed that Samina Shah was present at the place where the murder took place.
The court questioned the lawyer that what was her role in the crime? Justice Arbab noted that she had called the police.
The lawyer said that she called the police. He said that I would like to give arguments on the acquittal plea first.
Justice Arbab Tahir asked that tell us what such evidence do you have against Samina Shah? Who else was present in the house, Justice Inaam questioned.
Lawyer Raja Rizwan said that employees were also present in the house at the time of incident.
The petitioner’s lawyer said that if arguments are made on the first acquittal, it will affect the main case.
The court issues notices on Samina Shah’s acquittal plea and adjourned hearing till February 17.
It may be mentioned here that in September 2022 Sara Inaam was murdered by her husband Shahnawaz Amir.
