ISLAMABAD, Oct 27 (APP):The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday sought written suggestions from the petitioner’s lawyer on the submission of a framework report by the CDA and MCI on a petition against the eradication of stray dogs and alleged genocide.
Justice Khadim Hussain Soomro heard the petition. The court remarked that we want to hear this matter in detail and dispose of it. He remarked that it is surprising that a petition for the rights of dogs is coming in the federal capital.
Regarding the viral video of alleged killed dogs in a vehicle,  Justice Soomro remarked, an FIR will be registered against the driver. When the case proceeds, he will reveal on whose orders this happened.”
During the hearing, Pakistan Republic Party chief Reham Khan said that our aim is to ensure the implementation of the policy regarding stray dogs.
The CDA’s counsel, Shahryar Tariq, claimed that the sanitation team was only collecting dead dogs from various sectors, while the petitioners argued for a humane approach to stray dog management. The court directed the petitioner’s lawyer to submit written suggestions on the CDA and MCI framework reports.
Justice Soomro questioned the killings, saying, “If each dog costs Rs19,000 for vaccination, what is the need to kill them? No one can kill so many dogs at once. We will examine this thoroughly.”
The court, seeking written suggestions from the petitioner’s lawyer on the report of CDA and MCI, adjourned the further hearing of the case till a later date. A written order will be issued later.
