ISLAMABAD, Sep 28 (APP): The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday issued the respondents for comments in a petition challenging closure of Peshawar Motorway in wake of the march of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
The notices have been served to the Interior Secretary, Communications Secretary, Chief Commissioner Islamabad and other respondents.
Justice Muhammad Asif heard the petition filed by Advocate Mian Shafqat Jan against the closure of the motorway.
During the hearing, Justice Muhammad Asif remarked that Islamabad could not be closed either from inside or outside.
The petitioner told the court that he was scheduled to appear before the Peshawar High Court on September 24. He said he entered the motorway from the Islamabad Toll Plaza at around 7 a.m., but upon reaching near the Attock Bridge, he came to know that the motorway had been closed.
He requested the court to declare the closure of roads without any notification, order, or stated reasons illegal.
The court issued notices to the respondents and sought their replies.
