ISLAMABAD, Nov 04 (APP): The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday sought final arguments on November 10, in a case concerning the Capital Development Authority’s (CDA) operation in Saidpur Village and payment of compensation in accordance with a Supreme Court judgment.
Justice Raja Inaam Ameen Minhas, while hearing 127 petitions, directed the parties to assist the court in light of the Supreme Court’s 2008 judgment.
Secretary Interior Ahmed Raza Sarwar also attended the hearing and observed the proceedings.
During the hearing, Justice Minhas observed that compliance with court orders was mandatory under the law and not a matter of courtesy. He said no action could be taken without a court order and stressed that no one should be subjected to injustice.
The judge said he wanted to resolve the matter by addressing the genuine rights of the affected people and directed the parties to proceed transparently and focus on the relevant legal points.
CDA counsel Shehryar Tariq informed the court that plots had been allotted and all relevant details were available. He said a list of people who had already received plots was also available, adding that the authority had provided the court with all details concerning the Saidpur matter and responded to every notice.
Justice Minhas directed the lawyers to come prepared with legal arguments on November 10, observing that he would not entertain technical arguments on that date. He also noted that he would not be available after November 11.
The court adjourned further proceedings until November 10.
