IHC grants seven-day protective bail to TikToker ‘Mr Patlo’

ISLAMABAD, Nov 03 (APP):The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Tuesday granted seven-day protective bail to TikToker Ansar Mahmood, popularly known as Mr Patlo, directing him to appear before the relevant court by November 10.
Chief Justice Sardar Muhammad Sarfraz Dogar approved the protective bail during a hearing on the petition filed by the TikToker, who appeared before the court along with his counsel, Barrister Qasim Nawaz Abbasi.
Speaking to the media after the hearing, the counsel said his client had obtained a no-objection certificate (NOC) for holding an event and that maintaining law and order was the responsibility of the administration.
He claimed that Ansar Mahmood was not present at the venue when the incident occurred, as he was undergoing treatment at a hospital.
The counsel also expressed fears that his client could be killed in an alleged encounter involving the Crime Control Department (CCD).
He said that if the administration had any reservations, it should not have issued the NOC.
The lawyer further alleged that Punjab Police were harassing Mr Patlo’s family and had taken mobile phones and other belongings from his house.
