IHC fixes appeals against sentences in £190 million case for November 10

ISLAMABAD, Nov 04 (APP): The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has fixed for hearing of the appeals of PTI founder Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi against their convictions in the £190 million case on November 10.
A division bench comprising Chief Justice Sardar Muhammad Sarfraz Dogar and Justice Muhammad Asif will hear the appeals, according to the cause list issued by the IHC Registrar’s Office.
The court has sought arguments from counsel for the convicts on their appeals challenging the sentences.
At the previous hearing, the court had adjourned the proceedings without taking up the matter following a request by PTI founder’s counsel, Barrister Salman Safdar.
An accountability court had sentenced Imran Khan to 14 years in prison and Bushra Bibi to seven years in the case.
Both convicts subsequently filed appeals before the IHC, seeking annulment of their sentences.
