The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has disposed of a contempt petition concerning non-implementation of its order for the exhumation of Assistant Commissioner Patoki Furqan Muhammad after the Advocate General Islamabad assured the court that the order would be implemented within two weeks.

ISLAMABAD, Sep 25 (APP): The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has disposed of a contempt petition concerning non-implementation of its order for the exhumation of Assistant Commissioner Patoki Furqan Muhammad after the Advocate General Islamabad assured the court that the order would be implemented within two weeks.
IHC Justice Shahrukh Arjumand issued a written order disposing of the contempt petition filed over the delay in carrying out the court’s directions for exhumation of the deceased officer.
According to the written order, the Islamabad administration assured the court that the exhumation and post-mortem examination of Furqan Muhammad Khan would be completed within two weeks.
A medical board has been constituted at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) to supervise the exhumation and post-mortem examination of the deceased assistant commissioner.
The petition was pursued by Advocate Ehtesham Aslam on behalf of petitioner Muhammad Khan Marwat.
The Islamabad High Court had earlier ordered the exhumation and fresh post-mortem examination of Furqan Muhammad, who was buried at H-8 Graveyard in Islamabad.
The deceased officer’s father has been engaged in a legal battle for the past year to determine the circumstances surrounding his son’s death.
Furqan Muhammad died on August 31, 2025, at a rest house after participating in relief operations in flood-affected areas.
