The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday issued a written order directing authorities to provide protection to Lady Doctor Nazhat Shakoor and her family against harassment, threats and illegal interference.

ISLAMABAD, Oct 05 (APP): The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday issued a written order directing authorities to provide protection to Lady Doctor Nazhat Shakoor and her family against harassment, threats and illegal interference.
Justice Khadim Hussain Somro issued the written order on the petition filed by Dr. Nazhat Shakoor. The court directed the IGP Islamabad, Senior Superintendent of Police and the concerned Station House Officers (SHO) to ensure the safety of Dr. Nazhat Shakoor and her family. Notices were also issued to the parties, seeking their replies.
Dr. Nazhat Shakoor had filed the petition against harassment, threats and illegal interference, and sought protection from the IGP, SSP and the concerned SHO.
According to the order, police authorities shall protect the petitioner and her family from harassment, threats, intimidation and illegal interference.
The court directed that Dr. Nazhat Shakoor be provided appropriate security as required.
The court also directed the SHO Humak Police Station to appear in person at the next hearing.
The SHO Humak was directed to submit a compliance report on measures taken for the petitioner’s protection at the next hearing.
In her petition, the petitioner alleged continuous harassment, illegal surveillance, physical threats and theft accusations.
The order stated that police and local administration shall ensure the petitioner’s life, liberty, property and personal safety.
The court directed the relevant authorities to refrain from any kind of harassment or threats against the petitioner.
The next hearing of Dr. Nazhat Shakoor’s petition will be held on October 13.
